This section gives you step-by-step instructions for linking your Web site (or online ads) to the BusinessByPhone.com site.

Your "Special Link" to BusinessByPhone.com
Your customers should always follow what we call a "Special Link" to BusinessByPhone.com. A Special Link includes your affiliate ID. This ID in the Special Link tells our systems that any customer who follows the Special Link is "your" customer, and that any referral fees earned will be issued to you.

Your Associate number will be issued to you in the email you receive after signing up. It's that easy!

The syntax for a Special Link to our site is as follows:

http://www.businessbyphone.com/cgi-bin/at.pl?a=YOUR ASSOCIATE #

From now on, wherever you advertise or even mention the BusinessByPhone.com site, you will not just want to use http://BusinessByPhone.com. Instead, you will want to use the above URL, and include your affiliate ID after the "a=" portion. For example,

Online sales
All commissionable sales of BusinessByPhone.com products must be made through the secure shopping cart system at BusinessByPhone.com. Only ordering through BusinessByPhone.com's online catalog will ensure proper accounting and bookkeeping on our end, resulting in referral fees to you.

Remember that telephoned, faxed, or mailed-in orders do not qualify for referral fees under the BusinessByPhone.com Affiliate Program.


Advertising BusinessByPhone.com on your web site
To advertise BusinessByPhone.com on your Web site, we recommend you use our copy-and-paste banners and/or advertising copy. Ready-made banners with download instructions are available at this Web site. (Click here to go to this section.)

The following instructions assume you have already uploaded a banner named "bbp-banner1.gif" to your own Web site. Here is the HTML code to properly add a link from your Web site to our Web site:

When linking from your e-mail advertising to BusinessByPhone.com, you should ensure that your Special Link appears "clickable."  

Note: Advertising the BusinessByPhone.com Affiliate Program using unsolicited commercial e-mail ("UCE", "spam") is unacceptable per the affiliate agreement. Any spam complaints should be forwarded to abuse@businessbyphone.com.

If we determine that you have used UCE to advertise your affiliation with BusinessByPhone.com, we may terminate your status as an affiliate without notice, at our sole discretion. In case of a termination, you will also forfeit any outstanding referral fees.
